Anyone wishing to work in the private security industry requires a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence to practise. The BIIAB Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry is a nationally recognised industry standard qualification and successful completion of the course along with a satisfactory criminal records history will enable an individual to apply for an SIA Door Supervision Licence. The qualification comprises of 4 units and is run over 5 days.

The multiple choice examinations are marked externally and practical and theoretical assessments are internally assessed. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 2 and holds a credit value of 6.
