What is it all about?

Effective fire safety training is essential for many employees. This is because fire can destroy lives, close businesses and put a tremendous strain on the health and welfare of those affected by it. Every employee has a role to play in fire safety and the Level 2 Award in Fire Safety helps businesses prove that they are carrying out their requirements under law.

Is it suitable for me?

This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens or marshals and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire. Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of fire in any premises.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification is assessed by completion of a multiple-choice examination, the learner must answer 20 correct questions out of 30 to pass. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 2 and holds a credit value of 1.
