What is it all about?
The Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace develops the appropriate knowledge and attitude to contribute to an organisation’s safe operations. Subjects covered in this qualification include: Understanding the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace, the benefits of using a safety management system, the principles of risk assessment and understanding the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards. In addition to this the qualification assists supervisors in understanding their own role in relation to health and safety in the business.

The Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is aimed at supervisors, managers, team leaders, as well as individuals wishing to advance their health and safety knowledge. The qualification is intended for learners who already work in the capacity of supervisor, manager, team leader and also those who are preparing to start work at this level.
How will I be assessed?
This qualification is assessed by completion of a multiple-choice examination, the learner must answer 40 correct questions out of 60 to pass. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 3 and holds a credit value of 3.
