What is it all about?
The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders is the qualification required by law for an individual to become a Personal Licence Holder. The qualification covers topics including: the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles responsibilities and function of a licensing authority, the nature and strength of alcohol and its effect on the body, and the law in relation to Premises Licences.
Is it suitable for me?
The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders is designed for those learners working in, or preparing to work in any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. It is a pre-requisite for anyone who wishes to hold a personal licence. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol on licensed premises must hold a personal licence. This qualification allows an individual to meet a requirement set by law in order to undertake a specific role.
How will I be assessed?
The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders is assessed by the completion of a multiplechoice examination at the end of the course. The examination contains 40 questions, 28 must be correctly answered to pass the examination. The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at level 2 and holds a credit value of 1.
