Control of Substances Hazardous to Health



What is it all about?

The importance of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations cannot be overlooked, nor the importance of an employee holding a COSHH qualification. There are thousands of individuals made ill each year as a direct result of substances that are hazardous to health. Learners achieving this qualification will have a knowledge of: the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace and the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure that risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled.

Is it suitable for me?

The Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health is aimed at individuals who work in an environment where coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities, and office environments

How will I be assessed?

This qualification is assessed by completion of a multiple-choice examination, the learner must answer 10 correct questions out of 15 to pass. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 2 and holds a credit value of 1.
