The programme aims to support young people throughout Cornwall, aged between 16 and 24, into education, training or employment (as well as having the opportunity to experience and work in different areas of their choosing, these can include animal care, horticulture, retail and warehousing) by engaging them in a learning programme which encompasses class time and work experience in a relaxed and informal environment.

Access Training works with a group of specially selected providers, colleges, and other organisations to ensure that young people are able to access support to assist them to re-engage with education or support them to enter employment.

This programme has been designed to address the issues and challenges that young people face when trying to find employment or remain in an educational setting as well as affording them the opportunity to experience and work in different areas of their choosing.

Through participating in the project, individuals can expect to be moved further towards the labour market or into a job. Activities that we would expect participants to participate in would include:

Careers information advice and guidance

Peer Mentoring

Volunteering and Work Experience opportunities

Specialist Support for those with SEND

Debt, benefits, housing, advice

And much, much more!

We can help you to learn:

Life skills to help you live independently

Job skills, to help you get the job you want

Creative and practical skills

More skills tailored to your interests

We are proud to work with young people who may have experienced difficulties in other educational settings and help them find their confidence. We enjoy working to help them realise their true potential and what they can do rather than what may limit them.
