What is it all about?

The Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment is a qualification designed to assist individuals in understanding the risk assessment process and principles. The topics covered in this qualification include: The importance of health and safety in the workplace, the principles of risk assessment, the relationship between hazard and applying the hierarchy of control to control risk. In addition to this, learners will also gain an understanding of the legislation relating to risk assessment and how to implement this in their business.

Is it suitable for me?

This qualification has been designed for those who have a responsibility to conduct risk assessments at low risk premises. It is suited to those taking on the role of Health and Safety officer, supervisors, managers and anyone involved in the risk assessment process.

How will I be assessed?

The Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment is assessed in two parts: Part 1: Multiple Choice Examination, where learners have to answer 20 correctly out of 30 in order to pass. Part 2: Centre-set and marked assessment, where learners are expected to undertake a risk assessment, which will be internally set and assessed by Access Training and externally moderated by the awarding organisation. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 3 and holds a credit value of 2.
