What is it all about?

The Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is designed to help employers meet their legal and moral obligation to ensure health and safety within a business. The topics covered under this qualification include: Employers obligations to employees, contractors visitors and suppliers, health and safety management, risk assessment, safe systems of work and reviewing health and safety in a business.

Is it suitable for me?

This qualification is aimed at supervisors and managers with a direct responsibility for health and safety management. The qualification is intended for learners already working in this capacity or preparing to start work at this level. In order to register for this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements: 16 years of age or above, it is recommended that learners already possess a Level 3 Health and Safety qualification and it is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent.

How will I be assessed?

The Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is assessed by completion of a written examination and externally set and marked activities. This qualification is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 4 and holds a credit value of 6.
